Governing rules

Membership Terms — Public Summary

The principal contractual terms that must be accepted before paid Membership activates.

Formation and term

  • The contract is with UK ACADEMY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES, company number 17399439.
  • The applicant selects a category, confirms eligibility, accepts the terms and pays the displayed total.
  • The normal term is 12 months from activation.
  • Membership is personal, non-transferable and distinct from company-law membership or share ownership.

Applicant obligations

  • Provide accurate identity, eligibility and contact information.
  • Follow the Code of Conduct and lawful use requirements.
  • Do not misrepresent status, qualifications, authority or endorsement.
  • Keep account credentials secure and report material errors or misuse.

Renewal, cancellation and price

  • Auto-renewal requires an active choice and may be turned off for the next term.
  • Renewal amount and date are shown and reminded in advance.
  • A price change applies prospectively, normally at the next renewal after notice.
  • Cancellation and refund rights are governed by the published rules and statutory rights.

Suspension and ending

UKAAS may suspend or end status for non-payment, fraud, sanctions, serious misconduct or material breach, using notice and a proportionate opportunity to respond except where urgent restriction is necessary. Resignation does not erase legitimate payment, audit or conduct records.

Membership is a contractual programme membership. It is not Fellowship, a degree, a regulated qualification, a professional licence, Companies Act company membership, share ownership or an endorsement of the member's work.
