Institutional purpose

The Academy brings different forms of scholarship and professional knowledge into a common institutional setting. Its work centres on recognition, informed exchange, publications, programmes and public engagement.

Academic standing is supported by published criteria, accurate public records, declared conflicts of interest and clear separation between recognition decisions and commercial income.

Multidisciplinary scope

The Divisions organise subject expertise and collaboration. They do not operate as separate legal bodies and cannot independently confer status, approve an honour or bind the Academy.

  • Division of Arts and Humanities (AHS)

UKAAS is an independent private Fellowship and honours organisation. It is not a government body, statutory regulator, university, degree-awarding body, royal body or one of the United Kingdom's statutory or publicly funded national academies.

Fellowship describes status within UKAAS. It does not replace an academic qualification, professional registration, licence to practise or public appointment.
