Governing terms

Fellowship Regulations

The rules governing candidate routes, evidence, assessment, decision, acceptance, use of FAAS(UK), standing and review.

Candidate record

A candidate must provide accurate information, disclose material matters and permit proportionate verification. A direct applicant, nominee and Academy-identified candidate are assessed under the same standard.

Independence from commerce

Fellowship has no application, assessment, appointment, annual or lifetime fee. Membership, purchases, donations, sponsorship and commercial relationships are not assessment criteria and must not be disclosed to reviewers unless independently relevant to a declared conflict.

Decision and acceptance

Approval is recorded by the authorised decision-maker. Fellow status begins only after the candidate accepts the current Regulations and Code of Conduct. Acceptance creates no order, subscription or renewal.

Current standing

Use of FAAS(UK), certificates, Directory publication and verification depends on an Active record. Suspension, ending or revocation must be reflected promptly and former status must not be represented as current.

Fellowship is an Academy recognition. It is not a degree, regulated qualification, professional licence, statutory registration, public appointment, royal honour or endorsement of every statement or activity of a Fellow.

Governance

Membership, Fellowship and Honorary Fellowship are governed by their respective published terms, regulations and standards.
