Expected conduct
- Act honestly and do not fabricate credentials, evidence or affiliations.
- Treat others with dignity and do not harass, discriminate, threaten or retaliate.
- Disclose relevant conflicts when acting for the Academy.
- Respect confidentiality, privacy, intellectual property and event rules.
- Do not imply authority to speak for UKAAS without written authorisation.
Raising a concern
A report should identify the conduct, available evidence and any immediate safeguarding or retaliation risk. UKAAS limits disclosure to what is necessary for a fair process and does not promise absolute confidentiality where action or law requires disclosure.
Proportionate process
- Triage for jurisdiction, urgency, conflicts and safeguarding.
- Notice of the substance of the concern unless a lawful temporary delay is necessary.
- Opportunity to respond and provide relevant evidence.
- Decision by an authorised and unconflicted person.
- Reasoned outcome and review route appropriate to the seriousness.
Possible outcomes
- No action, guidance, correction or facilitated resolution.
- Warning, conditions, restricted participation or temporary suspension.
- Removal of office, Membership, Fellowship or Honorary Fellowship for serious substantiated breach.
- Referral to a platform, employer, professional body, law enforcement or regulator only where lawful and proportionate.
