Institutional Roles

Leadership and Responsibility

UKAAS identifies authority by office and function. Personal information is published only where it is necessary, accurate and authorised.

Board responsibility

The company board sets institutional direction, approves the control framework and remains accountable for compliance, finance and risk. The statutory register maintained by Companies House is the authoritative source for company appointments.

Academic and standards leadership

Academic and professional advice is assigned through written terms of reference. Appointments specify remit, duration, confidentiality, conflict obligations and decision limits.

  • Academic standards and Fellowship criteria.
  • Subject advice through the Divisions.
  • Editorial standards for publications and public statements.
  • Honours and recognition procedures.
  • Review, complaints and integrity advice.

Secretariat

The Secretariat administers applications, records, communications, meetings and published information. Administrative access does not confer authority to alter an assessment or recognition decision outside the approved procedure.

Publication of appointments

Institutional appointments are published when the role, authority, term and consent to publication have been confirmed. UKAAS does not publish private contact details or reproduce personal information merely because it appears on a public register.
