Evidence
Material claims in an application, citation, publication or public profile should be supported by proportionate and reliable evidence. The form of evidence varies by discipline, but the requirement for accuracy does not.
Assessment independence
- Published criteria are applied to the route concerned.
- Assessors declare conflicts before receiving restricted material.
- Payment cannot create a favourable assessment or honours decision.
- Material adverse information is checked before reliance.
- A review considers procedural error, relevant new evidence or an unreasonable application of the criteria.
Conduct
Members, Fellows, appointees and contributors are expected to act lawfully, represent their status accurately, respect confidentiality and avoid harassment, discrimination, retaliation and misuse of Academy identity.
Corrections and concerns
A factual error may be corrected without obscuring the original decision or effective date. Concerns involving fraud, status misuse, research integrity, conflicts or safety are assessed under the procedure appropriate to the subject and seriousness of the allegation.
Transparency boundaries
UKAAS publishes governing standards, current public status and approved institutional information. It does not publish confidential assessment material, private nominations, personal security information or allegations that have not been fairly examined.
