Academic remit
The Division advances historical, interpretive, critical and practice-based inquiry into human expression, ideas, languages, cultures and inherited worlds.
The Division coordinates disciplinary expertise across its Sections. It supports evidence review, reviewer routing and programme development, but does not operate as a separate legal body or independently confer Fellowship.

Applicants select a primary Section within this Division when it best represents the main body of work submitted for assessment. UKAAS may correct an allocation where the evidence is more appropriately reviewed elsewhere.
A secondary classification may record substantial cross-disciplinary practice. It neither creates a second Fellowship nor changes the fee, title or FAAS(UK).
