Mission
UKAAS convenes knowledge across academic and professional fields, recognises sustained contribution and supports work with intellectual, cultural, scientific or public value.
Rigour
Claims should be capable of verification. Publications identify authorship and sources; assessments record the criteria applied; corrections remain visible where the public record requires them.
Independence
Recognition, assessment, judging and editorial decisions must not be purchased or controlled by a donor, sponsor, partner or applicant. A material conflict is declared and managed before participation in a decision.
Openness across disciplines
The Academy recognises academic research alongside creative, clinical, technical, entrepreneurial, professional and public-service achievement. Different fields require appropriate evidence; none is treated as a substitute for evidence.
Institutional responsibility
- Accurate description of legal identity and institutional status.
- Fair treatment, accessibility and reasoned decisions.
- Proportionate collection and protection of personal data.
- Clear distinction between service communications and optional marketing.
- Correction of material errors without rewriting the decision record.
