Honorary Fellowship
Honorary Fellowship is the Academy's principal honorary distinction. It is free, cannot be self-applied for and proceeds only by an authorised nomination or direct Academy invitation. Publication follows approval, acceptance and consent.
Establishing an honour
Any medal, prize or additional distinction must be established by a recorded decision before nominations open. The public regulations must identify purpose, eligibility, selection authority, judging method, conflicts, funding, benefit and withdrawal conditions.
Independence from payment
No donation, subscription, sponsorship, purchase or partnership secures an honour or favourable judging. A sponsor may support lawful delivery but cannot select a recipient or suppress an adverse integrity decision.
Public record
- The exact name of the honour and year.
- The approved recipient name and citation.
- The authority and regulations under which it was conferred.
- Any later correction, withdrawal or change of status that must be public.
